We are on quest to unravel the mysteries of the human body and unlock its full potential. Outliers not only deepen our understanding of the human body, but also offer powerful clues for addressing unmet medical needs.
A fundamental challenge in outlier biology is finding and connecting individuals with extraordinary health experiences to researchers who can decode their unique biology for the broader benefit. The tools of discovery have never been more powerful, yet access to outliers often relies on chance encounters.
One of our goals is to cultivate a community that is passionate about advancing the study of health outliers. We aim collaborate with the most tractable health outliers to uncover new prevention and treatment strategies for diseases.

Over the past two decades, I’ve dedicated myself to forging new paths for people to get involved in scientific discovery and health innovation. For seven years, I served as an Associate Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As the founding Director of Democratized Health Innovations at the Institute for Next Generation Healthcare, my focus was to prototype and evaluate cutting-edge technologies to advance personalized health.

I co-founded and led PersonalGenomes.org alongside many amazing scientists, physicians and thousands of volunteers. This nonprofit was born out of Harvard Medical School's Church Lab and made significant strides in genomics, notably contributing to the 'Genome in a Bottle' program by NIST and the FDA – a milestone in enhancing the quality of clinical genome sequencing globally.

I was an early employee at one of the first startup companies to offer medical genetic testing services online, a leap towards personalized health care.
